GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Not responsible for any injury or injuries to persons, livestock or vehicles.

2. Each exhibitor will be responsible for seeing that livestock is properly fitted and kept in a clean and presentable manner during the fair and watered and fed while on exhibit. Any exhibitor that fails to comply will be barred from participating in the show.

3. Each junior livestock exhibitor will be given 2 free passes for entry to the fair. They can pick up their pass when they register their animals. At this time, they will also be reimbursed the ticket price they initially paid to get into the fairgrounds.

4. Management reserves the right to determine the number of classes and arrangement of classes.

5. The judge’s decision will be final. General and special rules will apply.

Horseless Cowboy Contest

Cowboy Contest (Jr. Stockman’s)
Thursday, September 6
Register: 4:30 PM, Contest: 5 PM

RULES:

1. Each County 4-H or Vocational Agriculture Department is invited to enter one or more teams of three or four members. When four members are entered, the three members with the highest overall individual scores will make up the team total for awards. The fourth member will be an alternate. Team members and alternates will be eligible for individual awards. Individuals without a team may enter and compete as an individual.

2. Junior contestants must have not reached their 19th birthday by January 1st of the current year.

3. Contestants will be provided with placing cards and necessary forms. Be sure to bring a pen/pencil and put your name on placing cards.

4. Disputes will be settled by contest chairman: decisions are final.

5. Number of classes and their components are subject to change. Exhibitors will be notified before contest begins.

6. Ages: Junior 9-13 Senior 14-19

Classes will consist of:

  • • Written quiz of 25 questions
  • • Identification of 10 retail cuts of meat
  • • Identification of 10 pieces of livestock equipment
  • • Identification of 10 breeds of livestock
  • • Identification of 10 livestock feeds
  • • Class of 4-hay
  • • Three Classes of 4 beef cattle
  • • Five questions about a class of beef cattle
  • • Class of commercial ewes
  • • Five questions about class of sheep

RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • 1. Competition is open to all exhibitors, with the exhibitor assuming all risks/losses to either person or property.
  • 2. All goats must be free of contagious diseases.
  • 3. All entries must be owned by the exhibitor for 30 days prior to the show date.
  • 4. Basis of age:
    • • Kid-milk teeth or show no breaking of skin or eruption of either of two permanent front teeth.
    • • Yearling-(two teeth) must show only the first pair of permanent incisors (front teeth).
    • • Aged-(four teeth or older) must have two pair of permanent incisors or older.
  • *All entries may be mouthed by department chairman and/or judge.

  • 5. No entries will be allowed to compete in both meat and dairy shows.
  • 6. All matters not set forth by the rules and regulations will be settled by the department chairman and all decisions are final.
  • 7. Bucks/Bills may be shown as kids only (Milk teeth only). Yearling and Aged Bucks will not be permitted.
  • 8. Goats should be broken to lead since they will be exhibited in the show ring.

$20 Premium for the biggest wether at the show.
