2017 Russell County Fair Home Economics, Agriculture and Art

There were 1,372 Home Economics, Agriculture and Art exhibits in the 2017 Russell County Fair. The many outstanding entries in a variety of categories challenged the Judges in determining the Best in Show winners! 

The Home Economics and Agriculture “Best in Show” Adult Winners were:

AGRICULTURE:         Bill Cross (Popcorn)

BAKED GOODS:       Christy Figueroa (Dipped Candy)

CANNED GOODS:       Monica Martin Bush (Pickles)

CLOTHING:                      Dara Easterly (Child’s Dress)

CRAFTS:                             Sherry Cross (Creche/Nativity)

FLOWERS:                        Kathy Cordle (Begonia)

NEEDLE WORK:           Carolyn Vickers (Applique Quilt)

 

The Home Economics and Agriculture “Best in Show” Youth Winners were:

AGRICULTURE:               Demi Miller (Sugar Cane)

BAKED GOODS:             Donna Sherrod (Cup Cakes, Frosted)

CANNED GOODS:         Mykala Johnson (Tomatoes)

CLOTHING:                        Michela Hankins (Hand Bag)

CRAFTS:                               Hailey Smith (Pop Can Tractor)

FLOWERS:                           Mackenzie Robinette (Miniature Dahlia)

NEEDLE WORK:              Michaela Hankins (Crochet)

 

The Art “Best in Show” Winners were:

INDIVIDUAL ELEMENTARY ART:   Brianna Potts

INDIVIDUAL HIGH SCHOOL ART:   Erica McCowan

 

Special Awards in Canned Goods are sponsored by Ball Corporation, a division of Jarden Home Brands Canning Products. Ball or Kerr Canning Jar and Lids must be used in this special category.

Thanks to the hundreds of exhibitors, dozens of exhibit volunteers and the exhibit judges for their part in making the Russell County Fair the “Best Fair in Virginia” for 15 of the last 19 years.  We look forward to the Home Economics, Agriculture and Art exhibits in 2018!
